Azerbaijani Karabakh carpets make their Italian debut in Cassino PHOTO
On May 24 and 25, the charming Italian city of Cassino will host a captivating cultural event: the exhibition “From Karabakh to Italy: Azerbaijani Carpet” at the Palazzo Guerrina Cultural Centre.
According to Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, this exhibition will present, for the very first time to the Italian public, an exquisite collection of Karabakh carpets, per Caliber.Az.
These masterpieces come from the private collection of Elnara Rasulova, a respected researcher and member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan.
These Karabakh carpets are not merely decorative art pieces; they are vibrant storytellers, preserving centuries of history, culture, and tradition. With their intricate patterns, vivid colours, and meticulous knots, they embody the enduring spirit and heritage of the Azerbaijani people, offering a glimpse into a rich cultural tapestry that has been woven through generations.
The exhibition represents a significant milestone in showcasing Azerbaijan’s cultural wealth on the international stage.
This remarkable event is organised with the support of the Azerbaijani Diaspora Support Foundation, the Municipality of Cassino, and several private sponsors, highlighting a shared commitment to cultural exchange.
The grand opening kicks off on May 24 at 11:00 AM, and visitors can explore the exhibition from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM over both days.
Such initiatives play a vital role in promoting Azerbaijan’s national art and heritage, especially its treasured carpet weaving traditions, and in sharing with the world the deep and rich history of this vibrant nation.
