MP: Armenia-Russia relations - very tense
MP from “Armenia” faction Artur Khachatryan has said that the situation at the Lars checkpoint is linked to the current tension in relations between Armenia and Russia.
“The situation created at the Lars checkpoint is related to the current tensions in Armenian-Russian relations. I do not exclude that Russia’s step was a certain message. Besides controlling the market, such state services as the Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance are also a political factor,” Khachatryan said in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“It is obvious that despite Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s numerous statements about his relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the relations are very tense, and this affects public sentiment. Moreover, it is clear that the ability of the government, having enormous propaganda resources, to shape public opinion is very high,” the MP said.
