Back-to-back earthquakes rock Türkiye's Sivas No casualties reported
Two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 4.1 have struck Türkiye's Sivas province just ten minutes apart, with no reported casualties or structural damage.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the quakes occurred at depths of approximately 10.57 and 22.98 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek confirmed that field assessments are ongoing and necessary precautions are being taken following the quakes.
AFAD teams continue their work on the ground.
To recap, on October 16, an earthquake measuring 5.9 struck the Turkish province of Malatya, resulting in injuries to 187 individuals of varying severity, including 43 who were placed under medical observation, according to Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
Yerlikaya reported that three buildings experienced partial collapses.
In addition, October 16 also saw 94 people sustaining injuries following an earthquake in Elazığ province, where two buildings sustained significant damage.
