Armenia detains supporters of arrested oligarch Karapetyan
The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reported the detention of five supporters of the “Strong Armenia” party for distributing pre-election bribes in the Armavir region.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the investigation alleges that representatives of Samvel Karapetyan’s party opened an office in Metsamor and were engaged in “recruiting” citizens who were supposed to vote for “Strong Armenia” in the June parliamentary elections.
The Committee also released recordings of conversations discussing issues related to bribery.
“Strong Armenia” has already responded to the statement from the investigative body, claiming that “the conversation recording is a poorly edited material.”
“The party operates within the framework of the law and the Constitution,” the press service stated.
