China offers global partnership to safeguard energy security
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that the country is prepared to maintain dialogue with all international partners to protect global energy security amid escalating conflict in the Middle East, according to TASS.
“Due to the situation in the Middle East, the global energy and commodity markets are facing supply shortages, affecting many countries. China is ready to maintain contact with all parties to jointly safeguard global energy security. However, fundamentally resolving the issue requires stopping military actions first,” Mao said.
Since February 28, the US and Israel have launched military operations against Iran, targeting major cities including Tehran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responded with large-scale operations against Israel as well as US military sites in Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz to vessels associated with the US, Israel, and countries supporting the “aggression.” On March 25, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that passage is allowed for friendly nations, including Russia, India, Iraq, China, and Pakistan.
