Russia's VK launches legal battle against Apple over removed applications
Russian technology holding VK has filed a lawsuit against three Apple entities over the removal of its applications from the App Store, according to the Russian arbitration case database.
The lawsuit was filed with the Moscow Arbitration Court on August 19 and names Apple’s Russian legal entity, Apple Rus LLC, as well as Apple Inc. and Apple Distribution International Limited as defendants, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
VK confirmed that the legal action concerns the removal of its applications from Apple’s App Store.
“In its lawsuit, VK is demanding that Apple return the company’s applications to the App Store, restore users’ ability to receive notifications from the applications, and impose a penalty in the event of non-compliance with the court’s ruling,” the company said.
