Armenian PM says situation with Russia will end in diversification
The situation with Russia will ultimately result in diversification, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said while discussing efforts to diversify the country’s economic relations.
He made clear that even if Russia opens its entire market, Armenia will continue its efforts in this direction, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Earlier, the Armenian Cabinet has approved a 2026-2031 program targeting 6% economic growth.
The document will now be submitted to parliament for approval.
Officials said the implementation of the Armenian government’s program is expected to bring about a new quality of governance and ensure the country’s advancement.
The program is based on the ideology of the so-called “Real Armenia,” the Civil Contract party’s election program, as well as the doctrine of Armenia’s economic and institutional transformation.
The program consists of the following chapters: foreign policy and security; human capital and well-being; economic transformation; urban development and infrastructure; democracy, justice and the fight against corruption; and institutional development.
The program’s preamble states that Armenia has a key and unique responsibility to ensure the security and freedom of its citizens and create conditions for their well-being and happiness within its internationally recognised territory of 29,743 square kilometres.
