Kyiv’s position gives Russia no reason for optimism on peace – Kremlin
Russia currently sees no positive signs pointing toward a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.
“At the moment, due to the position of the Kyiv regime, there are no grounds for optimism regarding a peaceful settlement. The dynamics on the front lines are well known. The special military operation continues,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Peskov also noted that Russia highly appreciates the efforts of all countries that are genuinely seeking to help resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
“There are few such countries, but that makes their efforts all the more important and valuable,” he said.
Peskov separately emphasised that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are always welcome guests in Russia, although no specific dates have yet been set for the special envoys’ visit to Russia.
