Media: Pashinyan plans to recall Armenia’s ambassador to Russia
21 August 2026 09:56
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is dissatisfied with the work of Armenia’s ambassador to Russia, Gurgen Arsenyan, and intends to recall him, Armlur reports, citing its sources.
The decision has been finalised and comes amid tensions in Armenian-Russian relations.
It remains unclear who would replace Arsenyan, as no specific candidate has reportedly been identified.
Armenian authorities have not issued an official comment on the reports.
Arsenyan was appointed Armenia’s ambassador to Russia in August 2024. Prior to his diplomatic appointment, he served as a member of parliament representing the ruling Civil Contract party.
