Russia rules out breaking treaties with NATO, EU
Russia has no plans to withdraw from existing agreements with NATO, the European Union, the World Trade Organization (WTO) or the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Russian presidential envoy to the State Duma Garry Minkh said.
Speaking to TASS, Minkh said the relevant Russian ministries opposed terminating the agreements, arguing that they remain useful instruments for maintaining dialogue with Western institutions.
According to Minkh, the agreements “have not exhausted their potential” and could continue to serve as a framework for engagement with the West despite ongoing political tensions.
“Both the head of state [Vladimir Putin] and [Russian Foreign Minister] Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov have always had the same approach: we are ready for dialogue and we do not reject it,” Minkh said.
