30 March 2026 14:16
Leaders of Central Asian nations are set to convene in Astana on April 22 for a meeting of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), Caliber.Az reports, citing the Kazakh government’s press service.
The organisation brings together Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to coordinate regional efforts on environmental and water management issues.
The Council of Heads of State meets at least once every three years. The previous meeting was held in Dushanbe in 2023, where Kazakhstan assumed the chairmanship of the Fund for a three-year term.
