Iran accuses IAEA of bias after US, Israeli strikes on nuclear sites
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that US and Israeli actions against Iran’s nuclear facilities constitute a crime and expressed regret over the response of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its head, Rafael Grossi, Mizan reports.
“The IAEA has once again taken an extremely incorrect position and, instead of condemning the aggressors, uses language in its interviews that only complicates the situation. Even making such assumptions by a body responsible for nuclear non-proliferation is unacceptable. Unfortunately, over the past two years, the agency’s Director General has not demonstrated work worthy of the position, both due to a failure to condemn and a lack of impartiality. Under such circumstances, the first thing the agency should do is condemn the aggression, but we have not seen this. We must do our job; consultations have been held, but our demands remain in place,” Baghaei stated.
He added that the Bushehr nuclear power plant continues to operate. Baghaei also described the attacks on nuclear facilities as extremely dangerous, stressing that they demonstrate the absence of limits in the actions of the United States and Israel.
