Georgia to host global maritime forum focused on regional connectivity

25 August 2026 14:07

The Georgia International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026) will take place in the Black Sea city of Batumi on September 7-8, bringing together officials and industry representatives to discuss maritime connectivity and regional transport links.

The forum is being held with the support of Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Maritime Transport Agency, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

The event is intended to strengthen Georgia’s position as a maritime country, support development of the Middle Corridor and expand transport connections across the region.

Ministers, senior representatives of maritime administrations, international organisations, financial institutions, private companies and academia are expected to attend.

Discussions will focus on maritime connectivity, international governance, security and the development of transport corridors.
