Iranian passenger plane issues emergency signal over Türkiye

A passenger aircraft operated by Iranian airline Taban Airlines issued the general emergency transponder code 7700 while flying over Türkiye on a flight from Istanbul to Tehran, Iran International reported.

The emergency signal was detected as the aircraft was descending in the Ankara area.

The reason for the emergency declaration has not yet been clarified. No further details about the aircraft or the nature of the incident were immediately available.
