ASTRA: Russia’s chemical plant halts operations after Ukrainian attack
The KuibyshevAzot chemical plant has suspended operations following a Ukrainian attack overnight, ASTRA sources report.
During the night of March 30, residents of Tolyatti in Russia’s Samara region reported numerous explosions. The regional governor stated that “enemy UAVs attacked an industrial facility in Tolyatti. There were no casualties.” Motorists also reported traffic restrictions near the plant, with movement temporarily limited along Novozavodskaya Street.
According to ASTRA, drones struck the KuibyshevAzot facility, damaging a dry ammonia unit. All employees were evacuated, and the plant halted operations, sources in Russia’s Emergency Ministry said.
According to the company’s website, KuibyshevAzot is one of Russia’s leading chemical firms, a major producer of caprolactam and nitrogen fertilisers.
