Iran ready to construct oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan, president says

Iran is ready to participate in the construction of an oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said during a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

Pezeshkian proposed establishing a Kyrgyz logistics hub at Iran’s Bandar Abbas port, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Japarov, in turn, invited Iranian oil exploration companies to cooperate in Kyrgyzstan.

The report said Iran could also supply crude oil to the refinery, while the resulting petroleum products are planned to be distributed between the two countries.
