Russia offers to host 2028 World Nomad Games in Kazan

Russia is ready to host the next World Nomad Games in Kazan in 2028, President Vladimir Putin said at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek.

Putin also said SCO countries were increasingly using national currencies in trade, with such currencies accounting for more than 98% of settlements between Russia and its SCO partners.

Russia's trade turnover with SCO member states exceeded $400 billion in 2025, Putin said.

He said cooperation among SCO countries was helping foster an atmosphere of peace and stability across Eurasia, adding that the members should do everything possible to prevent the provocation of armed conflicts from becoming part of international practice.

Strengthening commercial ties among SCO countries brings “obvious dividends” to all members of the organisation, Putin said.

He also announced Russia's readiness to host the next World Nomad Games in Kazan in 2028.
