ASTRA: Seven hurt as schoolgirl attacks teacher with knife in Russia

Seven people were injured after a schoolgirl attacked a teacher with a knife at School No. 2 in Kansk, Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Region, the ASTRA Telegram channel reports.

According to preliminary information, a seventh-grade student sprayed pepper spray at the teacher before a school assembly and then attacked her with a knife. The mother of one of the students intervened and pushed the attacker into the corridor.

The school assembly was cancelled following the incident.

Five children and two adults were hospitalised, the Krasnoyarsk Region Health Ministry said. All those injured were subsequently transferred to outpatient care.

The school declined to comment on the incident but said that “all services are working at the scene.”
