Kremlin: Russia in talks with Serbia on gas deal
Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that negotiations between Moscow and Belgrade on a new gas contract are ongoing, as reported by TASS.
The current contract for Russian gas supplies expires on March 31, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that its term has been extended by three months.
“We are particularly committed to our obligations towards friendly and fraternal countries, such as Serbia,” Peskov emphasised.
He added that Russia is ready to remain a reliable supplier of energy resources to any global markets, including the European one.
Additionally, Russia has delivered 100,000 tons of oil to Cuba on humanitarian terms. The tanker “Anatoly Kolodkin” arrived on the island to support the operation of life-support systems.
Peskov noted that Moscow had discussed the possibility of such deliveries with Washington in advance, and the United States does not object to periodic humanitarian oil supplies from Russia and other countries.
“Russia considers it its duty not to stand aside and to provide the necessary assistance to our Cuban friends,” the Kremlin representative added.
