Tehran strikes back: 1,200 Emiratis ordered out of Iran
Iran’s judiciary announced that it had revoked the residency permits of 1,200 citizens of the United Arab Emirates residing in Iran, ordering them to leave the country within seven days.
In an official statement, the judiciary said the affected individuals were required to exit Iran within a week, Iran International reports.
The move comes amid escalating regional tensions following joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February. In retaliation, Tehran carried out missile and drone attacks on targets across the region, including the UAE.
The decision also follows reports that Emirati authorities had previously canceled residency visas for Iranian nationals, leaving some stranded abroad, raising concerns over reciprocal measures between the two countries.
