Armenia begins construction of cinema town film complex VIDEO

Armenia has begun construction of a new film production complex in the city of Metsamor, with the project backed by the Armenian government and supported by the municipality.

The planned “Metsamor Cinema Town” will feature purpose-built sets designed to resemble streets and neighbourhoods in various European cities. The complex is intended to allow filmmakers to recreate foreign locations in Armenia, potentially reducing the need for international shoots, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

The first production scheduled to use the new facility will be Komitas, an Armenian-French film based on the life of the Armenian composer and priest Komitas.
