Türkiye detains 39 in operation targeting terrorist organisations
Thirty-nine suspects have been detained in an operation targeting terrorist organisations carried out across 10 Turkish provinces, with Istanbul at its centre.
During searches of the suspects’ residences, materials and organisational documents were seized, along with one pistol, two magazines and 53 rounds of ammunition, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Detention warrants had been issued for a total of 52 suspects.
The investigation found that 44 of the suspects were operating as part of the MLKP terrorist organisation, four as members of TKP/ML-TİKKO, three as members of DSİH-KALDIRAÇ and one as a member of the MKP.
Of the remaining suspects, eight were found to be abroad and two were in prison.
The search for the other three suspects is ongoing.
