Armenia’s Hayastan Foundation board meets without Church representatives PHOTO
The Board of Trustees of Armenia’s All-Armenian Hayastan Foundation is holding a meeting without representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan said at the opening of the meeting that 20 board members were present, including eight participating online. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan are also attending, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, who is a member of the board, has not attended its meetings since 2022. Hierarchs of the Armenian Apostolic Church had participated in the meetings in his place since then.
The board’s membership also includes businessman and Strong Armenia leader Samvel Karapetyan, who is currently under house arrest.
Established in 1992, the Hayastan Foundation is Armenia’s largest charitable organisation. It brings together resources from the Armenian diaspora worldwide to finance socioeconomic, infrastructure and humanitarian projects in Armenia.
