Russian FM says Moscow already restructuring logistics

15 September 2026 13:57

Russia is restructuring its logistics and will fulfil all its obligations to supply its partners despite obstacles to navigation created by the West, says Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

He claimed that since January, Europe has detained 12 vessels under a contrived pretext, while the West’s attempts to undermine freedom of navigation are a cause for concern, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Four Russian ships, including sanctioned cargo and tanker vessels escorted by a destroyer, entered the Mediterranean through Gibraltar on August 27, ending a two-month absence of the Russian navy from the region.

The move marked the first interruption in Russia's naval presence in the Mediterranean since 2013, according to military sources.

The vessels were reportedly detected switching off their tracking transponders before passing through the Strait of Gibraltar.
