Türkiye congratulates Azerbaijan on Baku’s liberation anniversary
Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement marking the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from occupation by the Caucasian Islamic Army.
In a post on X, the ministry said: “On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the liberation from occupation of Baku, the capital of dear Azerbaijan, we extend our most sincere congratulations to our Azerbaijani brothers and respectfully honour the memory of all martyrs who gave their lives for independence.”

Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan on September 15–16, where he is expected to hold talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, and meet Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov.
He will also be received by President Ilham Aliyev.
During his meetings, Fidan and Bayramov will discuss the growing strategic relationship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as regional and global developments.
