Iranian official accuses Zelenskyy of trying to exploit regional countries
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that regional countries are “wise enough” not to fall for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s attempts to exploit their resources, SNN reports.
“Countries in the region that Zelenskyy visited are undoubtedly wiser than to allow someone who, over the past four years, subjected his own country to a devastating war and inflicted such horrors on the Ukrainian people, to try to ‘exploit’ them,” the spokesperson added.
Baghaei also emphasised that linking the conflict in Ukraine to alleged aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran is “a catastrophic arithmetic mistake.”
He expressed confidence that regional nations would avoid such a trap and thanked them for their commitment to not participate in “illegal aggression” against the Islamic Republic.
