Israel strikes targets in Lebanon after mortar attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it recorded several mortar shells launched from Lebanon at military posts in the north of the country.

In response, IDF artillery struck the sources of fire, the agency said in its Telegram channel.

"During the night, several mortar shells were recorded from Lebanon toward IDF posts in the Shtula area," the post said.

Mortar fire was also reported on an IDF post in the Yifta neighbourhood.

According to the military, three Israeli army soldiers were lightly wounded as a result of the shelling from Lebanon and were evacuated for medical treatment.
