Armenia produces ultra-modern weapons - ruling party MP

12 February 2024 10:00

Armen Khachatryan, an MP from the ruling Civic Contract, has said that Armenia produces ultra-modern weapons.

"We have revolutionary changes in the sphere of military industry, today we have weapons that are produced in Armenia," Khachatryan said in an interview with the Armenian edition of Radio Liberty on February 11, Caliber.Az reports.

"These weapons may be of the fourth, fifth generation, and there are developed countries that don't even produce these weapons. If we maintain this pace, in 1-2 years we will have high-tech achievements that will be known in the world as Armenian achievements, of course, in the field of military affairs, military equipment, if such pace is maintained.

Of course, Armenia is a small country, it cannot produce everything, we strive to produce such equipment, which is ultra-modern, solves more problems, and this military equipment is produced through the use of high technologies. Of course, it will not be possible to hide all this for a long time, but at the moment it is right to work a lot and talk less," he said, adding that the military-industrial sector has been given a new impetus.

The MP noted that there are also plans to produce drones, which are in the process of realization.

"Azerbaijan and Türkiye are arming themselves, and taking all this into account, we imagine the challenges facing us and take appropriate measures. In a few years, we will have a highly combat-ready, modern army, and in the coming years Armenian products will be well known in international markets," he added.
