Azerbaijan prevents drug smuggling attempt from Iran PHOTO

On March 31, on the territory of the Horadiz border detachment of the border troops of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, the border guards recorded the movement of two unknown persons from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The personnel of the border outpost blocked possible directions of movement of border violators, and operational search activities were carried out on the territory, the State Border Service told Azertag.

Border violators traveling from the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Republic of Azerbaijan did not obey the order of the border guard to “Stop!” and tried to run back, abandoning their bag.

Border guards used weapons against border violators in accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the State Border”.

As a result of the incident, one of the border violators was injured, and the other, taking advantage of the difficult terrain and unfavorable weather conditions, ran away in the opposite direction.

Immediately after the border guards provided first aid to the wounded border violator, he was evacuated to the Central Hospital of the Fizuli region.

During the investigation, it was established that the detainee was Iranian citizen Adilli Ramazan Yusif oglu; during an inspection of the territory, 10 kilograms of 300 grams of narcotic drugs (marijuana) were discovered and seized.

As a result of the measures taken, a resident of the village of Amirzeidli, Beylyagan district, Atakishiev Rasim Mustafa oglu, born in 1968, and a resident of the village of Birinji Shahseven Abdullayev Muhammad Ramil oglu, born in 1999, who came to pick up narcotic drugs, were detained.

On this fact, joint operational and investigative measures are being carried out with the Prosecutor General's Office.
