Pro-Armenian senator urges US to cut military aid to Azerbaijan
French MP questions US diplomatic response

Our old and not to say kind acquaintance, US Senator Bob Menendez, has commented on the mythical "ethnic cleansing" carried out by Azerbaijan in some "Artsakh". Moreover, he expressed regret that the leadership of the United States was not strong and decisive in responding to this "tragedy". All of these comments and regrets were made during the "Genocide Justice" event honoring the "victims of the Armenian genocide" as well as Armenia and the unknown "Artsakh." Menendez also noted that it is time to firmly insist that the US administration withdraw military aid to Azerbaijan.

A few words about the event itself: the point is that its purpose is not at all to "condemn and take immediate action", "do everything to never again and for nothing again", and certainly not to "call to account and forever stigmatize those who dared". The point of the event is not even to raise money and give it to Armenians. It is all about collecting money from wealthy diaspora Armenians and taking it for themselves. And also so that the representatives of the Armenian diaspora would vote in the elections for those who gathered and interceded. Moreover, in light of the current circumstances, Menendez needs both votes and money more than anyone else.

The fact is that our website has repeatedly reported on the cash, gold bars and luxury car (our reference: a Mercedes-Benz convertible) received from Egyptian businessmen. Plus, we reported that "If Menendez does run for Senate this year, he's sure to lose because the latest polls show that 75 per cent of New Jerseyans disapprove of his candidacy, which has already caused him to drop out of his re-election bid as a Democrat. But the pretense of supposedly running allows him to spend his remaining funds on legal defence. Between October and December of last year alone, he spent $2.3 million of his campaign coffers on legal fees." In general, the little man really needs to remain a senator (even if not as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, these powers he resigned under the pressure of some circumstances), and the little man needs money even more, if only because during the search of the senator's home was found more than $480 thousand in cash, which, according to the US Department of Justice, were spread out in envelopes and hidden in clothes, in closets and in the safe.

What can you say? A citizen cannot even hide his unjustly acquired wealth, and yet, he stands up for separatists, talks about "genocides", and calls on the leadership of the United States for decisiveness. In general, as the classic wrote: "a rare squabbler and cheapskate, he does not enjoy respect in the team. This characteristic, well, maybe, reminds you of someone, don't you think?

But that's not all, if only because any circus performance consists of several sections. Here is French National Assembly member Astrid Panosyan Bouvet saying that France has decided not to leave Armenia alone against "Azerbaijan's ongoing aggression" and put forward the question why the US can't do the same. "France has decided not to leave Armenia alone in the face of Azerbaijan's ongoing genocidal aggression. I have a question for the US diplomats in Paris and my fellow American lawmakers: why can't the United States do the same?" almost wringing her hands, the MP asked. Well, why exactly she asked - her surname answers this question, and it is senseless to accuse Astrid Panosyan Bouvet of prejudice towards Azerbaijan, because blood is thicker than water. As for "continuing aggression" - what aggression? We haven't occupied anything, we haven't shot at Armenian border  guards, and in general, if we shoot, it's only as a retaliatory (sometimes - preventive) measure, and when we shoot, we always hit. So God forbid. As for "why and why not" – a parliament member, of course, is not obliged to understand geopolitics, but at least once in her life should look at the political map of the region, and preferably, of course, of the world, but this is a very sensitive topic, and I have not told you anything.

In general, events and appeals with questions are one thing, but live money is quite another. For reference: the US promised Yerevan $65 million, while the EU promised €270 million. This is all that the editorial board wants to say, and let Armenia think about its own importance and the priorities of the EU and the United States.
