Türkiye’s latest artillery system, the ARPAN-155 howitzer, has successfully completed its qualification tests, surpassing performance expectations with a record firing rate.

Developed through a collaboration between leading Turkish defence companies ASELSAN, MKE, and BMC, with ASFAT serving as the main contractor, the ARPAN-155 is an integrated 155mm howitzer mounted on a tactical 8x8 wheeled vehicle platform.
During the recent tests, the system exceeded its target firing rate of six rounds per minute by achieving eight rounds per minute, marking a significant milestone for the project. This performance highlights the howitzer’s enhanced firepower and operational efficiency.
The ARPAN-155 features ASELSAN’s advanced fire control system, combining high mobility with precision and rapid-fire capabilities tailored to the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Following the successful qualification phase, plans are underway to move into mass production of the ARPAN-155, which is expected to strengthen Türkiye’s artillery capabilities significantly.
