Turkish Foreign Minister slams West’s stance on Baku-Yerevan normalization
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed dissatisfaction with the position of several Western countries regarding the ongoing normalization process between Baku and Yerevan, as he addressed the meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Shusha.
Fidan highlighted Türkiye's support for a swift and successful conclusion to the peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He praised Azerbaijan's steadfast determination and positive approach towards achieving a peace agreement but criticized the perceived bias of some Western nations that, according to him, favor Armenia and overlook Azerbaijan’s legitimate concerns.
“We sincerely hope that the current negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia will lead to the signing of a peace agreement as soon as possible,” Fidan stated.
He emphasized that, as part of the Turkic world, Türkiye is invested in the success of these negotiations and seeks a fair and balanced resolution to the conflict.
