Azerbaijan, Türkiye enhance judicial cooperation
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev has met with Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc to discuss the robust development of strategic partnership and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, particularly in the judicial and legal sectors.
The meeting, which also included Azerbaijani Justice Minister Farid Ahmadov, highlighted the effective collaboration between the two nations' ministries of justice, both in bilateral contexts and within international organizations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The discussions encompassed various prospects for expanding cooperation in the judicial-legal sphere, with both sides agreeing to further strengthen interactions between their respective ministries of justice and judicial systems.
Moreover, the delegation led by Tunc visited the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Chairman of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council Inam Karimov highlighted that mutual visits and bilateral meetings significantly contribute to strengthening the well-established ties between the two fraternal countries.
He referred to the Turkish Supreme Court as a key partner in experience sharing within the judicial system, organising joint training sessions, and other collaborative efforts. The guests received detailed information about the activity of the Supreme Court, the ongoing judicial reforms in Azerbaijan, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of justice, particularly in the area of court digitisation.
Tunc praised the bilateral relations grounded in the principle of "One nation, two states" and expressed confidence in the continued expansion of cooperation. The meeting also included discussions on issues of mutual interest, after which the guests toured the administrative building of the Supreme Court.
