Georgian professor hails Azerbaijan’s large-scale reconstruction projects

Infrastructure in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories is being restored at a rapid pace, Professor Nika Chitadze of the International Black Sea University in Tbilisi said.

Chitadze made the remarks while visiting Ganja as part of a delegation of Georgian journalists and bloggers traveling to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

He said he had previously visited Baku but was visiting Karabakh and other parts of Azerbaijan for the first time.

“I witnessed Azerbaijan's development, particularly the large-scale projects being implemented following the restoration of the country's territorial integrity. Indeed, infrastructure in the liberated territories is being restored at a very rapid pace,” he said.

Chitadze also said he was well acquainted with the background of the Karabakh conflict, noting that he had closely studied both the First and Second Karabakh Wars.

“I have closely studied the First and Second Karabakh Wars, their causes and other related issues. Now, thanks to the support of our Azerbaijani friends, we have had the opportunity to visit Karabakh. I believe that the peace established in the region will be long-lasting, as the likelihood of the conflict resuming has been virtually reduced to zero,” the professor said.

He added that the visit had provided an opportunity to observe developments in the region firsthand and gain a closer understanding of Azerbaijan’s ongoing reconstruction efforts.
