Azerbaijan, Türkiye sign memorandum to strengthen probation, penitentiary collaboration
The Azerbaijani and Turkish Ministries of Justice have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing capabilities in probation and the penitentiary sector, as well as organising mutual training for staff members.
The document was signed by Azerbaijan's Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov and Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunc in Baku, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the meeting, such topics as collaboration in information technologies, improving the efficiency of extradition processes, and the transfer of convicted individuals, along with other issues of mutual interest, were discussed.
Earlier, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye.
The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is to develop projects to ensure the social well-being of disabled and elderly people, children and women, the war disabled, war veterans and martyr families, exchange knowledge, experience and best practices, improve child protection services, develop and increase the effectiveness of social services for the disabled, the elderly and children.
