Baku delivers protest note to Poland over "biased" TVP report

28 August 2026 19:42

Azerbaijan has summoned Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pawel Radomski and handed Poland a note of protest over what Baku described as biased and unacceptable remarks aired by Polish public broadcaster TVP World.

According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Radomski was summoned over a report broadcast on August 26 on the “Eastern Express” program, which the ministry said contained “biased, inaccurate and completely unacceptable” statements targeting Azerbaijan and its leadership, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The ministry also voiced strong dissatisfaction with what it described as the program host’s provocative conduct.

"The dissemination of information that distorts reality is particularly concerning amid ongoing efforts toward normalization and peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Azerbaijan continues to pursue efforts aimed at securing lasting peace, stability and security in the region," the ministry emphasized.

It also described the airing of negative content about Azerbaijan by a public broadcaster funded by the Polish government as an “unfriendly step” that runs counter to the spirit of partnership between the two countries and could seriously harm bilateral relations.

Azerbaijan urged the Polish side to take immediate and effective measures to prevent similar campaigns targeting the country in the future.
