The Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan has celebrated Türkiye’s August 30 Victory Day with an official reception.
The event was attended by Azerbaijani Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army Karim Valiyev, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board Allahshukur Pashazadeh and head of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) working group on Azerbaijani-Turkish interparliamentary relations Ahliman Amiraslanov, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The guests also included representatives of state and government bodies, Milli Majlis deputies, foreign ambassadors accredited to Azerbaijan and employees of Turkish companies operating in Baku.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün read out a congratulatory message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Hasanov said the fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are growing stronger every day. He noted that relations between the two countries are developing based on the principle of “One nation, two states,” associated with national leader Heydar Aliyev, and the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye: “The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow.”
