Bishkek hosts opening of 6th World Nomad Games
The 6th World Nomad Games will officially open in Bishkek today. A major celebratory programme will be held at the new Bishkek Arena stadium, with numerous foreign guests, including presidents and prime ministers, expected to attend the opening ceremony.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the Games in the sporting, cultural and scientific programmes, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Meanwhile, on September 1, Bishkek will host a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), chaired by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, as well as a high-level meeting in the “SCO Plus” format.
The heads of state will discuss pressing issues on the international and regional agenda, key priorities for the SCO’s further development, and prospects for deepening cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, digital, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The meeting is expected to conclude with the signing of the Bishkek Declaration marking the SCO’s 25th anniversary, along with documents and decisions aimed at further strengthening multifaceted cooperation and improving the organisation’s activities.
