Azerbaijani speaker visits Serbia for Non-Aligned Movement conference

Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova has arrived in Serbia on a working visit to attend a high-level commemorative meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of Heads of State and Government of Non-Aligned Movement member states.

The parliament said Gafarova, who is leading an Azerbaijani delegation, was welcomed at Nikola Tesla International Airport in Belgrade by Serbia’s Minister of Domestic and Foreign Policy and EXPO 2027 General Commissioner Jagoda Lazarević, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Serbia Tahir Taghizade and other officials, Caliber.Az reports.

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of developing countries that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. It is the world’s second-largest grouping of states after the United Nations, with about 120–121 member states, representing nearly two-thirds of UN members and roughly 55% of the global population.
