Azerbaijani speaker, Chinese delegation discuss cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has met with a delegation led by Ying Yong, procurator-general of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China, during which the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries’ prosecution authorities.
Ying said closer cooperation would make an important contribution to protecting citizens’ rights and preventing crime in both countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
According to Gafarova, since diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and China were established in 1992, bilateral ties have developed on the basis of friendship, mutual respect and support.

In her words, Azerbaijan has always supported the “One China” policy, while China has supported Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Gafarova stressed the importance of high-level and top-level mutual visits in strengthening bilateral ties, highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visits to China and the signing of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
She also spoke about the current state and prospects of cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Chinese parliaments, recalling her working visit to China in March, when she met with Chinese National People’s Congress Chairman Zhao Leji.
The two sides also highly valued cooperation between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of China as an example of mutually beneficial political cooperation.
Ying Yong expressed satisfaction with the high level of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations and highlighted Aliyev’s visits to China in 2025 and his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
