Baku, Beijing deepen strategic partnership through prosecutorial ties
China and Azerbaijan are “good friends and trusted partners,” while cooperation between their prosecutorial authorities represents an important component of the two countries’ strategic partnership, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate Ying Yong said.
Ying Yong made the remarks during a ceremony marking the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the prosecutorial authorities of Azerbaijan and China, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He said the memorandum would open a new stage in cooperation between the two institutions, further strengthening their existing ties.
“Earlier, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev awarded me the commemorative medal established to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor's Office. This demonstrates that the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has very deep friendly relations with the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China and attaches great importance to cooperation between the two institutions,” Ying Yong said.
The Chinese official underscored the longstanding and close relationship between the two prosecutorial bodies, describing the memorandum as an important step toward expanding institutional cooperation.
The agreement is expected to provide a framework for further engagement between Azerbaijan’s and China’s prosecutorial authorities and contribute to the broader development of bilateral strategic ties.
