Azerbaijan, Croatia ink memorandum on prosecutorial cooperation
Baku is currently hosting a series of meetings with delegations from international organizations and various countries as part of the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors.
Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Croatian Prosecutor General Ivan Turudić, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office.
The two sides exchanged views on the prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation between their respective prosecutorial offices through bilateral and international platforms.
Following their discussions, a memorandum of understanding was signed to develop further collaboration.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the collaboration between national prosecutorial offices is crucial for addressing transnational crime, including corruption, human trafficking, and cybercrime. Agreements like the memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and Croatia signify a commitment to strengthening legal frameworks and mutual assistance.
Established in 1995, the IAP is a global network aimed at promoting cooperation among prosecutors and enhancing the effectiveness of the prosecution services. The annual conference provides a platform for sharing best practices, discussing challenges, and fostering international collaboration in criminal justice.
