Azerbaijan determined to speed up unblocking of regional communications

Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu has said that a new 166-kilometre railway will be built from Horadiz to Ordubad stretching from Azerbaijan to its Nakchivan exclave through the territory of Armenia.

According to him, negotiations will be held between Azerbaijan and Russia on the 43-kilometre section of the Armenian part of the line, which will pass through the Zangezur region, Report informs.

Uraloglu about the Kars-Nakhchivan railway, which will provide a new transport link between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

“The 158-kilometre line from Ordubad to Velidag station, located in the north of Nakhchivan, will be overhauled. In addition, the road will be extended by 14 kilometres from Velidag to the border with Armenia,” the minister said.
