Ukrainian children explore Azerbaijan's Gabala historic reserve
A group of 30 Ukrainian children participating in rehabilitation activities have visited the Gabala State Historical and Artistic Reserve and Archaeological Center.
The visit began with the children exploring the archaeological exhibits at the Gabala Archaeological Center. Zakir Karimov, the director of the reserve, welcomed the young guests and provided them with a comprehensive introduction to the centre and its historical significance, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The children also watched a documentary film titled “The Capital of Caucasian Albania – Gabala,” which offered insight into the region’s rich cultural heritage. Each child received a commemorative gift to mark the occasion.
Following the presentation, the group toured the archaeological excavation sites at Selbir and Gala within the reserve. There, they learned about ongoing excavations and notable discoveries that shed light on the ancient history of the area.
This cultural excursion formed part of broader rehabilitation efforts organised by Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protectionaimed at supporting Ukrainian children affected by the war, offering them educational and enriching experiences during their stay in Azerbaijan.
