Baku airport customs intercept 93 boxes of medicines

A large consignment of medicines allegedly brought into Azerbaijan in violation of customs regulations has been seized at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.

Officers from the Main Department of Customs Control at Air Transport detained a person at Terminal 1 who was collecting packages from passengers after they had received them at airports abroad, Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee said.

A search of the detainee and his car uncovered 93 boxes containing 10 types of medicines.

An investigation into the case is under way.
