Azerbaijan detains six with 116 kilograms of drugs

Azerbaijan’s anti-drug department has detained six people and seized 116 kilograms of drugs in a trafficking operation.
The ministry said previously convicted individuals Nijat Hasanov, Mubariz Azaev, Huseyn Veliyev, Etibar Salimov, Elshan Abdullayev and Shahin Abdullayev were detained in the Binagadi, Nizami and Absheron districts, as well as in Yevlakh, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
A total of 116 kg of drugs and 9,500 narcotic tablets were seized from the detainees.
The investigation established that the suspects had organised the illegal trafficking of drugs smuggled into Azerbaijan.
Criminal cases have been opened, and a court ordered the suspects to be remanded in custody.
