Ukrainian youth engage in therapy, travel, and tradition in Azerbaijan PHOTO
A group of 30 Ukrainian children currently undergoing rehabilitation in Azerbaijan visited Lake Nohurgol and the Gabaland amusement park in Gabala as part of a series of cultural and recreational excursions.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, cited by domestic media, the outings were organised by the State Agency for Medical and Social Examination and Rehabilitation.
The children, who arrived in Azerbaijan on August 5, are participating in a 10-day rehabilitation program at the agency’s Children’s Rehabilitation Centre in Gabala.
This latest arrival marks the eighth group of Ukrainian children hosted in Azerbaijan under the agency’s ongoing humanitarian initiative. Since the start of the program, a total of 222 Ukrainian children have received similar support and care across seven previous groups.
The rehabilitation effort provides a combination of medical, psychological, and social services, aimed at supporting the children’s recovery and reintegration. The program includes individual psychological counseling, group therapy, yoga, and dance therapy sessions designed to promote emotional stability and social adaptation.
In addition to therapeutic treatment, the initiative features cultural and educational activities to help enrich the children’s experience. During their stay, participants will take part in excursions to various regions, including visits to historical and architectural sites in Gabala and Sheki, offering insight into Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
