Azerbaijan explores collaboration with US satellite giant in Davos
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and a representative of the American satellite imaging company reviewed potential opportunities for collaboration at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21.
“As part of President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the Davos Economic Forum, we met with Ashley Johnson, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of the U.S. based Planet Labs PBC. We underscored the importance of resource optimisation through innovative solutions in energy, ecology, entrepreneurship, and other sectors. We also discussed potential opportunities for collaboration with the company,” Caliber.Az quotes Jabbarov as saying on his X account.
Note that Planet Labs PBC is one of the leading American companies in satellite imagery. It develops and operates a network of miniaturized satellites. By capturing daily images of the entire surface of the planet, the company provides high-resolution data that are actively used in areas such as environmental monitoring, agriculture, resource management, urbanization, and emergency response.
