Azerbaijan marks end of CIS Cultural Capital Year in Lachin PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and the Special Presidential Representation in the Lachin district have held the official closing ceremony of the CIS Cultural Capital Year 2025.
The event opened with speeches from officials, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Special Presidential Representative Masim Mammadov, Executive Director of the International Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation of CIS Member States Tahir Iksanov, Milli Majlis MP Polad Bulbuloglu, and Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov highlighted the work carried out throughout the Cultural Capital year, as well as planned initiatives and cooperation platforms. They noted that the past year was marked by strengthened cultural and humanitarian ties among CIS countries.
The event then continued with a cultural programme.
As a reminder, by a decision of the CIS Council for Humanitarian Cooperation on 8 October 2024, the city of Lachin in Azerbaijan’s Eastern Zangazur region was designated the CIS Cultural Capital for 2025.
