Azerbaijan registers 87 candidates for parliamentary elections

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov has said that eighty-seven candidates have been registered for snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

He made the remarks at a meeting of the commission, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

According to him, 1,255 people have applied for participation in the snap parliamentary elections to be held on September 1.

On June 28, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the dissolution of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the sixth convocation and the call for snap parliamentary elections. According to the order, the elections will be held on September 1, 2024.
